Number 1 is the “Kemitraan Negara Berkembang” Scholarship popularly known as KNB. It is a fully funded scholarship sponsored by the Indonesian Government.

Undergrads, Master, and Ph.D. applicants can apply but the scholarship is more tailored to Master applicants. According to Imran Shakir, who is also a YouTuber and a Master’s student, over 70% of the winners of the scholarship are Master’s students.

The age requirement for this scholarship is 25 for undergrad applicants, 35 for Masters, and 40 for Ph.D. applicants.

The application process for each level is different. However, what they all have in common is getting a recommendation letter from the Indonesian consulate/embassy in your country. To do this, use the link in the description to find the email address of the Indonesian embassy in your country, then write a message requesting them to recommend you, and attach the necessary documents. They would get back to you in a few days. If you want an example email you can use, I have provided a template in the description that you can download for free. In addition, the list of documents you need to attach to your email is written in the description.

From my research, this is the most difficult part of the application process for this scholarship so once you get this done, just know you are almost there. After getting your recommendation letter, you need to apply through the online portal. The documents you need to upload to the portal are:

An academic reference letter, which you can get from teachers/professors.

Recommendation document received from the consulate/embassy.

Academic Transcripts

Graduation certificate

IELTS, TOEFL, or any other English Proficiency exam

Employer/Immediate Supervisor Recommendation

Motivation Letter

Covid-19 certificate

The application portal would ask you to select 2 universities that you want to get into so make sure you have researched which unis are the best for you. According to some posts on Facebook and some channels on YouTube, you can get a proof of English proficiency document from your school which states that you have undertaken all courses in English, thus proficient. Lastly, about the Employer/Immediate supervisor recommendation, I understand that it is for Ph.D. applicants only but the portal doesn’t let you progress if you don’t upload one. Hence a solution to that is that you get 2 academic recommendation letters from different persons and upload one as your employer/immediate supervisor’s recommendation.

The deadline to apply for this is the 18th of February 2023

Number 2 is Turkiye Burslari. This scholarship is available for all levels of study, i.e BsC, MSC, Ph.D., and even Research. However, there is a limit to the ages that can apply. Anyone planning to apply for an Undergraduate program must have their dates of birth on or after the 1st of January 2002. Anyone planning to apply for a master’s program must have their dates of birth on or after the 1st of January 1993. Anyone planning to apply for a Ph.D. program must have their dates of birth on or after the 1st of January 1988. Anyone planning to apply for a research program must have their dates of birth on or after the 1st of January 1978.

Out of the 5 scholarship opportunities mentioned in the video, I believe this one has the easiest and most straightforward application process. That’s because all you need to apply are:

a transcript,

graduation certificate,

an ID card and

a motivation letter which is referred to as a “Letter of Intent”.

If you have these documents ready, simply head on to tbbs.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr to create an account, fill in your details, and apply. The application portal would ask you to select up to 12 universities that you want to get into so make sure you have researched which unis are best for your course.

If you get accepted, you will be placed in a university and you will have to learn the Turkish language for 1 year. [ it is compulsory to get the certificate before you can start your actual program]. Undergrads will spend a total of 5. Masters students will spend a total of 3 years, while Ph.D. will spend a total of 5 years.

Thankfully, over the past 2 years, I have made tons of videos on this scholarship so if you check out my channel, you will find detailed application tutorials, tips, and tricks to win, and the best examples to write an outstanding essay for this scholarship.

The deadline to apply for this scholarship is the 20th of February, 2023.

Number 3 is Turkiye Diyanet Scholarship. High school students, undergraduates, and MSc and Ph.D. applicants can apply for this scholarship. This scholarship is particularly tailored to Muslims or anyone interested in studying Islamic Science in Turkey. So the only program available for undergraduates, MSc, and Ph.D. applicants is Islamic Science/ Islamic Theology. The curriculum for high school students is a mix of science, art, and Islamic programs that lasts for 3 or 4 years.

There is also an age limit to apply for this scholarship. It is exactly the same criteria just as the Turkiye Burslari age limit which I mentioned earlier. For high school applicants, the age limit is 16 years. That is, your date of birth must be on/after the 1st of January 1, 2007.

The documents required to apply are similar to that of Turkiye Burslari and the application portal asks identical questions. Although their portals can be confusing, no worries, you’d find them easy to navigate. So if this is for you, what are you waiting for?

The scholarship is open, and its deadline is the 28th of February 2023.

Number 4 is the Romanian Government Scholarship for BSC, MSC, and Ph.D. applicants who are citizens of non-EU countries. You can apply for all courses except Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. Undergraduates and Masters can apply for programs available in the Romanian language only so that means you will have to spend your 1st year learning the Romanian language. Ph.D. applicants can apply for programs offered in Romanian, English or any other language offered by the university.

Did you know that Romania and Chad have the same colors in their flags?

The application process is quite straightforward for undergrads and Masters because once you get your documents ready, you can head on to the portal and apply. For Ph.D. applicants however, it is stated on their website and I quote “it is compulsory that, prior to submitting the application, the candidate should get the written agreement of the Doctoral Tutor, which must be a member of the doctoral school, and also that he/she passes the admission interview”. So I am guessing this means you need first to contact a professor in your field, signify interest in working with them, and if accepted, get their written agreement and then upload it to the portal.

The documents required to apply are:

  • diplomas
  • transcripts
  • birth certificate
  • passport, and
  • CV

When you first create an account on the portal, you will need to verify your email by inputting an activation code that will be sent to your mail. I waited for over 30 minutes before realizing it was in my spam folder, so please note that. Once activated, you fill in your details, upload documents, select universities, and submit. It is very straightforward.

The deadline is the 1st of March, 2023

Number 5 is the SINGAPOREAN AWARDS (SINGA and SIPGA). SINGA is for international Ph.D. applicants only while SIPGA is for undergrads/Masters Applicants. Let’s start with SINGA, the one for the PhD

If you are interested in carrying out research in Biomedical Sciences, Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering and Technology, and Physical Sciences, this scholarship is for you.

To stand a good chance of winning this scholarship, you need to have outstanding grades and good recommendations from lecturers/professors.

The application process starts with researching Areas of interest. Afterward, you head to the application portal to upload your documents, select your field of interest, and choose the supervisor you want to work with. The documents required are:

A Valid Passport

BSC and MSC Academic Transcripts (must be in English)

Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree certificates

2 recommendation reports (to be completed and submitted online by the referees).

GRE scores (Only for those applying to supervisors/projects in NUS)

The deadline to apply is the 1st of June 2023.

As for SIPGA, this is for undergrads or Masters students to partake in a short-term research project (2-6 months) in the fields of Engineering, Biomedical, and Physical sciences. If this sounds like what you are interested in, then you need to get your CV and transcripts ready, then apply. The application process is straightforward. Just upload your documents, select the programs/projects you want to work on and submit.
