Ankara Vs Istanbul

Ankara is a city with a population of over 5 million. Istanbul is three times that number so you can imagine how crowded it is. Ankara is the second largest city in Turkey so anyone who wants a city life but cannot bear the overcrowdedness in Istanbul usually chooses Ankara.

The way of life here in Ankara is quite different compared to that of Istanbul however. I mean, Istanbul is the life of the party. There’s so much to do there that you could end up placing priorities on things other than school. It could be tourism, trade, or party and fun because Istanbul is richer in terms of historical Heritage, natural beauty, trade opportunities, and social events and that’s why compared to Ankara, most students in Istanbul may not graduate on time. Even though there are distractions in Ankara, it isn’t enough to make you lose focus on school. the city just doesn’t permit that. Whether you like it or not you’d study once exams are close by. the vibe is all over and you’d see everyone going to libraries, cafes, and all. you just have to get along except you have strongly decided not to. Given Istanbul’s geographic location, all trade routes are possible but there’s no sea in Ankara. no one buys stuff from Ankara to send to their countries else you’d be wasting money. you’d rather go to Istanbul for that. Istanbul summarizes Turkey. Everyone from all over Turkey is in Istanbul and opportunities are there so you can venture into literally any field you want. The options are quite limited in Ankara and to make good money, you may have to go into something related to education or find yourself in the headquarters of some big company. Education is highly valued in Ankara as far as I have seen. The culture here is still pretty much about where you studied and what your GPA is. In fact, those two factors greatly affect if and where you get an internship. So if you’re a student who is good at interpersonal communication, has good grades, and speaks the Turkish language properly, you’d enjoy finding a path for yourself in a city like Ankara.

The same goes for Istanbul actually. If you are the type who enjoys a more busy, quick, and active lifestyle or a student, you’d enjoy Istanbul. Moreso, if you’re looking to explore several trade opportunities, Istanbul would be more welcoming.
