It was a cold Monday, I woke up at half past 5. I got to school before 9. As a year 3 student, we have to take 7 courses to make up 30 credits. Out of these 7, 2 are electives. I wanted to choose between Data-Intensive Applications and Machine learning so I had to attend their classes before deciding.
After the data-intensive class had ended, I didn’t even bother checking the timetable for Machine learning because I found my interest in the Data-intensive applications. I wished I had at least attended though…
Tuesday came quickly and I met with friends. Being the first week of school, several student clubs and societies were out in their stands calling on students to join them. We checked some of them out together. I have a lot to do for myself so I would rather not join any. After all, I joined 4 last year and never attended any sessions. Before I graduate, however, I will definitely take part in at least one of these clubs Insha Allah.
In the school’s dining hall, food is cheaper for students. With my student card, I can buy a full meal for about 6 lire. Actually, this is much compared to the 1.85 lire we used to pay in 2019. Nevertheless, given the current situation of things, this is still good enough. After 3 years in Turkey, I am now used to the food so much that I always clear my plates ALhamduliLlAH. Except when they serve broccoli (I wouldn’t even take it in the first place hahaha).
On Wednesday, I attended a class called Office Management. It is an elective course. In order to graduate, we must have taken 20 credits of elective courses. That means, a 5-unit course every semester will help me graduate on time. However, these 5 unit courses would take up my time and if I don’t get a good grade in them, my GPA will be affected. So I would rather choose the SEC-coded courses which are usually worth 3 credits only. If I take 2 every semester, I shall complete 20 credits in my last semester. That’s why I have to take ‘Office Management’ and ‘Communication in the Health Sector’ courses. They were the easiest ones that still had space in their quota so lucky me.
Thankfully I am free on Fridays this semester, so Thursday is my last day of the week. Last week Thursday, I was on the streets of Ankara preparing for school, this Thursday I am writing a blog post on my first week of school. How time flies. Anyways, I plan to use Fridays for my personal projects, getting closer to Allah and improving my personality. I pray Allah grants me the strength to not feel lazy and actually make the best use of this free time.
